Mobile Car Battery Replacement in San Jose, CA
A new battery brought to the car and installed where it stands, anywhere in San Jose and the surrounding cities, in 45 minutes or less. You get the quote on the call.
Mobile car battery replacement means the battery comes to the car rather than the car going anywhere. No push, no tow to a parts store, no borrowing a ride from someone at work. The right battery for your make and model is brought out, the old one comes off, the new one goes on, and you drive away on it.
Guerra Towing does this across San Jose and the surrounding cities, 24 hours a day. What we do is replace the battery, and that is the whole job: you are not sold a diagnosis, an inspection or a service package on top of it. The old battery goes with the driver for recycling, and the quote is given on the call before anyone sets off.
Car Battery Replacement in San Jose
A dead battery is one call on a list of roadside jobs. If the battery is fine and something else is wrong, you are told that rather than sold a battery.

Why People Call Us for a New Battery
Guerra Towing is your family-owned towing and roadside company in the San Jose, CA area, and a battery that has given up is one of the calls we take most. Dispatch runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, holidays included, and the battery is quoted on the phone before the driver sets off.
Car Battery Delivery and Installation in San Jose
Delivery and installation are the same visit here, not two. Tell dispatch the make, model and year when you call and the correct battery is loaded before the driver leaves, so nobody arrives to look at the car and then go away again for the part. The battery is delivered and installed where the car is standing, at home, at work or in a parking lot, across San Jose and the surrounding cities, and the old one leaves with the driver for recycling. Nights, weekends and holidays are worked the same as a weekday afternoon.

Signs You Need a New Car Battery
Five things you can see or feel from the driving seat, before anyone else is involved.
It is flat again every morning
Charged one day, dead the next, with nothing left on overnight. A battery that empties itself while the car is parked is at the end of its life rather than having a bad week.
It cranks slowly when it is cold
That long, labored turn before it catches, worst on the first cold morning of the year. Cold is what finds a weak battery, which is why so many of them die in December and January.
It is three to five years old
That is the ordinary working life of a car battery, and shorter if the car does mostly short trips. If you know roughly when it went in, you know roughly when it is due.
The case is swollen, or the terminals are furred up
A bulging case or a heavy crust on the posts is a battery you can see the end of. Worth saying on the phone, because it changes how the driver approaches the job.
It was jumped, and it died again
A jump that lasts as far as the end of the street is the clearest sign there is. The battery took the charge and could not keep it, and no amount of jumping changes that.
The Right Battery for Your Car
Three things that decide which battery goes in, and all three come from the make, model and year you give dispatch.
Group size and terminal layout
Batteries come in standard sizes, and the tray and clamp in your car fit one of them. Which posts sit left and right matters too, because the cables only reach so far. The make, model and year settle both.
Cold cranking amps
The figure that says how hard the battery can turn a cold engine. Installing less than the manufacturer asked for is how a new battery ends up feeling tired in its first winter.
Start-stop cars and AGM
If the engine cuts out at every red light, the car almost certainly wants an AGM battery rather than an ordinary one. They cost more and they are not interchangeable, so it is worth saying when you call.
What Affects Your Battery Replacement Price
Every battery replacement is quoted free, before the driver sets off. These are the things that move the number.
Distance of the tow
Where we pick up and where it is going. A cross-town tow and a two-block tow are not the same job.
Where the battery sits
Most are under the hood and take minutes. Some cars put it in the trunk or under a seat, which takes longer to reach.
Which battery the car takes
Group size, cold cranking amps and whether the car needs an AGM battery for start-stop. The part is most of the price.
Time and access
Overnight calls, freeway shoulders, underground garages and tight streets all change what the job takes.
Car Battery Replacement FAQs
The questions San Jose drivers ask dispatch most often.
Do you bring the battery, or do I buy it first?
We bring it. Give dispatch the make, model and year when you call and the right battery is on the van before it leaves, so the delivery and the installation are one visit rather than two.
How long does a mobile battery replacement take?
The swap itself is a short job on most cars. Getting to you is the part that takes the time, and across San Jose and the surrounding cities that is 45 minutes or less.
What happens to the old battery?
It leaves with the driver and goes for recycling. Car batteries are lead acid and must not go in a household bin, so you do not have to work out what to do with it.
Can you replace the battery at my home or my workplace?
Yes. A driveway, a work parking lot, a curbside spot or a parking structure are all normal. The car does not have to start and it does not have to move.
Do you replace batteries in start-stop or hybrid cars?
Yes. A start-stop car normally takes an AGM battery rather than a standard one, and hybrids still run their electronics off an ordinary 12 volt battery. Say which you have when you call so the right one is loaded.
Will you check whether I really need a new one?
No, and that is deliberate. Guerra's car battery service is replacement only: no testing, no diagnostics and nothing else added on. If you want the charging system looked at, that is a job for a shop, and the car can be towed to one.
