24 Hour Roadside Assistance San Jose

Most calls to this line are not tows. A dead battery, keys shut in the car, a flat on the shoulder or an empty tank: five problems that get fixed where the car sits, usually in one visit.

Dispatch answers 24 hours a day. Tell them what the car is doing and where it is parked, and they will say which of the five services below you need and how long the truck will take. If the roadside fix will not hold, the same truck tows it.

Roadside Assistance in San Jose

Roadside assistance is the short list of things that go wrong with a car that are not actually breakdowns. A battery that has gone flat overnight. Keys on the driver seat behind a locked door. A tire that gave out on the way to work. A tank that ran dry two exits early. None of those need a garage, and none of them need the car to be taken anywhere. They need someone to come out with the right thing in the truck.

Guerra Towing handles all five of those calls across San Jose and the surrounding cities, 24 hours a day, and gets to you in 45 minutes or less. You describe what the car is doing and where it is, dispatch tells you which service it is, and you get the quote on that call before anyone sets off. If the roadside fix will not hold, the same company tows it, which is the part a roadside-only company cannot do.

Is It a Roadside Fix or a Tow?

Most of the time it is a fix. Here is how to tell.

It is a roadside fix

A dead battery, keys locked in the car, a flat tire with a spare in the car, or an empty tank. All five roadside services are done where the vehicle is parked, and you drive away on it.

It becomes a tow

No spare in the car, a car that still will not start after a jump or a new battery, or damage that means it should not be driven. Those need a tow, and saying so on the phone saves you a second call-out.

You find out which on the phone

Not after a driver has arrived and looked. Describe what the car is doing when you call, and dispatch will tell you which of the two it is, give you the quote and say how long the truck will be.

When people call

When People Call for Roadside Assistance

The calls that come in again and again.

It will not turn over in the morning

The most common roadside call. A jump usually gets it going. If it will not start again after a jump, it needs a new battery, and that is installed where the car is parked.

The door shut with the keys inside

Nothing is broken and nothing is lost. The door is opened where the vehicle stands, for cars, trucks and vans.

A flat on the way somewhere

If the spare is in the car it goes on and you carry on. The truck brings the jack and the wrench, so an empty tool well is not a problem.

The tank ran dry

Enough fuel to reach the nearest open station, brought to the vehicle. Not a full tank: that is what the pump you are about to drive to is for.

Stopped on a freeway shoulder

Get everyone out on the side away from the traffic, behind a barrier if there is one, then call. Tell dispatch the freeway, the direction and the last exit you passed.

In the truck

What We Bring to a Roadside Call

The right kit for all five jobs, on the truck that comes to you.

Portable jump packs

A dead battery is started from the pack. No second car, no cables across the street.

A new battery, when a jump will not do

Brought to the car and installed where it is parked.

A jack and an impact wrench

So your spare goes on even if the jack and wheel wrench are missing from your car.

Fuel cans, gasoline or diesel

Enough to get you to the nearest open station.

Lockout tools

The door is opened without breaking a window.

Worth knowing

What Roadside Assistance Does Not Include

So you call the right people the first time.

Mechanical repairs

If the car needs a mechanic, it is towed to the one you choose.

Tire repair, patching or new tires

Only your own spare is put on. No usable spare, and the car can be towed to a tire shop.

Cutting, programming or replacing keys

Lost or broken keys are a locksmith job. Guerra opens the door when the keys are inside.

Motorcycle lockouts

A locked motorcycle needs a locksmith.

Battery or charging-system testing

A drained battery is jumped, or a dead one is replaced. Nothing is diagnosed at the roadside.

Roadside Assistance FAQs

What San Jose drivers ask when the car will not start.

If you are in San Jose or a surrounding city, yes. Call (408) 828-6533 and tell dispatch where you are; they will give you a realistic arrival time before anyone is sent.

Yes. Fuel is delivered to your vehicle day or night, enough to get you to the nearest station. It is one of the five roadside services on this page.

Start with a jump start. If the car will not start again afterwards, the battery needs replacing, and a new one is installed where you are parked. Dispatch can send either.

Yes. Jump starts are done wherever the vehicle sits, at home, at work or in a garage, as long as the truck can reach it.

Yes. Guerra Towing answers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, weekends and holidays included.

Then the vehicle goes on the truck, and the tow is quoted before any work starts.

No. Guerra Towing does not repair or patch tires. If there is a usable spare in the car, it is put on at the roadside. If there is not, the car can be towed to a tire shop.

It depends on the service and where you are. You get a quote on the phone before a truck is sent.
